M-262 — January 26, 2009 — Mr. Siksay (Burnaby—Douglas) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should act upon the decision by the Board of Directors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to move the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock from seven minutes to five minutes to midnight on January 17, 2007, to stress that the planet stands at the brink of a second nuclear era and the destruction of human habitats due to climate change, by taking urgent and extensive measures domestically and internationally to seek the elimination of nuclear weapons and the potential for catastrophic environmental damage from human-made technologies.
